People & Operations Coordinator

Classification: Full-time, permanent Hours of work: 44 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7:00AM to 4:30PM

Compensation: Starting wage $23/hour (annualized $52,600) + health care spending account + pension plan

Here’s What You’ll Do: In this role, you’ll be a critical HR and operations backbone, ensuring that employee records, recruitment, onboarding, and operational data are accurate, reliable, and accessible. You’ll also serve as a professional front-desk presence, welcoming employees and visitors, managing communications, and supporting leadership in maintaining efficiency and continuity across the business.


Working closely with HR, Operations, and leadership, you’ll help maintain clean data, track projects and capacity, and support employee-facing initiatives. Success in this role requires independence, discretion, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to handle multiple priorities. By bringing consistency and reliability to HR and Operations processes, you’ll have a direct impact on Horst’s operational effectiveness and employee experience

Your day to day will look like this:

  • Own HR administrative processes, including recruitment coordination, onboarding, and record management
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and reporting (training, headcount, compliance, uniforms)
  • Support Operations by tracking project man-hours, capacity, and weekly reporting
  • Serve as a professional front-desk presence, greet employees and visitors, answer calls, and filter inquiries appropriately
  • Take accurate meeting minutes and follow up on action items
  • Assist with internal HR communications, including memos, Teams posts, and bulletin board updates
  • Collaborate with HR, H&S, and Operations to troubleshoot workflow or coordination issues
  • Participate in training and professional development initiatives
  • Complete other HR or Operations tasks as assigned
  • Contribute to the team with a positive attitude and continue to develop a great working culture, with an emphasis on excellence

You're a perfect fit for this job if you bring:

  •  3–5 years of HR administration experience or equivalent operational coordination experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
  • Experience working with HRIS, shared drives, or tracking/reporting systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Dependable, coachable, and proactive in problem-solving
  • Professional, calm, and discreet when handling sensitive information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Collaborative attitude and willingness to learn and grow

Bonus Points:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Office Administration preferred
  • Have experience working in agriculture, farming, or similar industry
