You’ll ensure we have exactly what our TruckPro Repair Center needs and fulfill our role as a trusted Traction Heavy Duty Parts dealer, overseeing purchasing, pricing, inventory control, and parts sales in our busy truck parts and repair center.

Position Overview
In addition to managing all aspects of parts operations, you’ll lead a team of non-technical staff, including drivers, service advisors, and parts sales associates, providing clear direction and support. Working closely with both the service and parts teams, you’ll ensure seamless coordination, timely availability of parts, and efficient workflows that fuel exceptional customer service. Your leadership will be key in optimizing inventory levels, streamlining processes, and boosting the overall profitability of the business.

Key Responsibilities
Purchasing
- Proactively source, purchase, and maintain the right parts at the right time to keep our shop and customers moving.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Build lasting partnerships with vendors while seeking out new opportunities for quality and value.
- Serve as the link between suppliers and internal teams, ensuring smooth communication and problem-solving.
- Forecast demand and manage purchasing cycles to prevent shortages and overstock.
Inventory & Pricing
- Design, implement, and oversee effective inventory management procedures that keep operations running efficiently.
- Set and update pricing strategies, including seasonal promotions and special offers, to maximize sales and margins.
- Coordinate closely with the service department to ensure parts availability aligns with repair schedules and customer deadlines.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels for both parts sales and repair shop needs.
- Ensure all inventory meets Traction stocking requirements.
Sales & Online Ordering
- Act as the on-site point of contact for implementation of the online ordering platform, supporting a smooth rollout for the Hwy 4 Truck Services team.
- Assist with system implementation by coordinating with the external provider, troubleshooting on-site issues, and ensuring team needs are communicated and addressed.
- Train and support staff in using the online ordering system, ensuring comfort and confidence with day-to-day processes.
- Help maintain a consistent, customer-friendly experience across in-store and online channels.
Leadership
- Lead, coach, and support a dedicated team of drivers, service advisors, and parts sales associates, fostering a collaborative and positive workplace.
- Provide ongoing training, performance feedback, and growth opportunities for your team.
- Partner with service and parts teams to ensure seamless coordination across operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
- Uphold company policies, safety protocols, and industry standards.
- Monitor and report on inventory, sales performance, and operational metrics.
- Collaborate with the Owner(s) on broader operational priorities and strategic goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) required.
- Training or certifications in inventory management, purchasing, or leadership, considered an asset.
Experience
- Significant experience in a purchasing, inventory, or operations role within the trucking, automotive, or heavy equipment industry.
- Demonstrated success in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Hands-on experience with inventory management systems; experience using Karmak Fusion Solution is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and inventory tracking.
- Experience managing both in-house and online sales channels is an asset.
Skills
- Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to forecast demand, manage purchasing cycles, and optimize inventory levels.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise initiative, and make decisions autonomously while collaborating effectively with service, parts, and management teams.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to train, coach, and develop a team.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in inventory, pricing, and reporting.
- Customer-focused mindset, ensuring a seamless experience for both internal teams and external clients.
- Comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and identifying process improvements to drive efficiency and profitability.
