Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday with additional duties on weekends as required. There will also be on-call responsibilities. The hours of work depend on the area in which you are working. This position requires the candidate to live in close proximity to the hatchery.


Employees must be available to be cross-trained in different areas of the hatchery.


Job Summary

We are seeking a local, experienced individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintenance, general duties and occasionally overseeing daily operations. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.


Duties

  • Ensuring facility systems/equipment is operating within parameters.
  • Providing general maintenance duties for all aspects of the Hatchery with the ability to work as a lead hand.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of Hatchery production machines.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Ability to work in a leadership, supervisory role, when necessary
  • Collaborate with the team to develop strategies for improving productivity and efficiency.
  • Handling Poultry
  • Must be reliable and willing to learn
  • Follow all implemented biosecurity and animal welfare practices and procedures
  • Respond in a timely manner to emergency "call in" for facility and equipment repair
  • Clean, sanitize and disinfect hatchery equipment and machinery
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum (3) years of experience required in a maintenance role. Preferable in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possess strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working with live animals.
  • General Computer Skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

Hourly Range is $32.00 - $37.00 per hour.

Please note if the candidate is licensed in a trade, the hourly rate will be increased
