Field Service Technician - Agriculture

Are you a hands-on problem solver who thrives in physical work, enjoys being outdoors, and takes pride in building something that lasts? Horst Systems is hiring a fulltime permanent Field Service Technician to help construct and maintain custom grain systems across Ontario.



In this role, you’ll travel with small crew based out of Elmira, installing and servicing grain handling equipment with a strong focus on safety, quality, and meeting project schedules. You’ll take on a variety of tasks—from maintenance and repairs to equipment installation and working at heights— while gaining experience across multiple construction trades.

What You Will Do

  • Regular travel around Ontario with your maintenance crew; some overnight stays required
  • Follow instruction as per Crew Leader and Project Manager, adhering to project specifications
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on grain handling facilities
  • Assist installations crews with grain handling equipment as required.
  • Work at heights of up to 50 meters
  • Participate in training for safe work practices, use of equipment, tools and job techniques
  • Contribute to the team with a positive attitude and continue to develop a great working culture, with an emphasis on health and safety

  • Safety awareness and follow instructions carefully to get the job done right the first time.
  • Communication skills to collaborate respectfully with others, helping to build a positive team environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in construction, landscaping, agriculture, or a related field.
  • Experience operating equipment such as welders, forklifts, telehandlers, or hydraulic lifting systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude or maintenance experience is a strong asset.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work hard as part of a close-knit team.
  • Confidence working at heights and comfortable using fall protection when required.
