Brampton Library is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in fostering literacy, inspiring learning and building community through our strong and vibrant library system. This role provides corporate administrative support and contributes to an effective working environment with a focus on results and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Corporate administrative assistance, coordinating meetings, taking minutes, research and providing guidance on Board governance
  • Coordinate fundraising and annual staff events
  • Work collaboratively across service units connecting corporate goals and day-to-day operations
  • Provide a high level of internal and external customer service and flexibility
  • Maintain confidentiality and security related to content for Senior Management Team, Human Resources, and other sensitive information sources where information is developed prior to staff/public release
  • Additional related duties may be assigned from time to time


What it Takes to do the Job:

  • Advanced college diploma (3 years) in Business Administration or equivalent combination of experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in corporate executive support, office organization, and Board of Director governance support, preferably in a library, municipal, or other public sector setting
  • Demonstrated time management skills, attention to detail and accuracy with confidential information
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and provide support services, translating goals and objectives to tangible results and outcomes
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships and work collaboratively
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills using tact and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated level of integrity and confidentiality
