Welder/Fitter

Location: 290 Union Street Elmira, Ontario

Reports to: Shop/Production Manager
Classification: Full-time, permanent
Compensation: $26-$36 per hour (overtime after 44 hours/week) + health care spending account + pension plan + eligibility for year-end bonus

Here’s What You’ll Do: As a Welder/Fitter with high standards of workmanship join our team in our Elmira, Ontario facility. This hands-on role focuses on producing high quality products. This is a full-time permanent position, working approximately 50 hours per week on a straight day shift.

Your day to day will look like this:

• Accurately read, analyze and interpret blueprints and drawings
• Prepare, assemble and weld pieces of metal and/or structures as per specifications
• Use and build various jigs to assemble components
• Operate various tools and equipment.
• Work with sheet metal and perform structural fillet welding
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Recognize and understand weld symbols

You’re a perfect fit for this job if you bring:

• Minimum 3 years’ welding experience
• Current CWB GMAW Flat ticket, or ability to achieve
• Skills in fitting and welding steel structures and sheet metal with strong understanding of welding techniques
• Competent with using bandsaw, drill press, ironworker, and various welders
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Capable of working under pressure and pushing through challenging rush part scenarios
• Strong communication, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
